Smart Cities India 2016 Expo To Open On May 11


New Delhi: Exhibitions India Group is organizing the 2nd Smart Cities India 2016 expo at Pragati Maidan here from 11-13 May to support the Prime Minister’s vision of Smart Cities.

The forthcoming expo will deliberate on providing Smarter Solutions for a Better Tomorrow. The expo will be inaugurated by Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Railways.

Recognizing the Smart Cities India expo as an important platform to drive progressive change, the expo is supported by 10 central ministries. Support has also been received from 36 trade associations, 38 trade publications, 37 online portals, etc.

The 3-day expo will comprise an exhibition with 325 national and international companies showcasing trends and technologies for integrated smart city management. The exhibiting companies include leading multinationals to innovative start-ups - Dell International, Xerox, Ericsson, 3M India, Berger Paints, Godrej Security, Grundfos Pumps, Millenium Semiconductor, Tata Projects, Volvo, Yamaha, etc. offering solutions for smart cities India.

Commenting on the expo, Ravinder Pal Singh, Director, Solutions Strategy & Business Development, Dell India, said “This is a great platform to meet stakeholders in the smart city ecosystem and deliberate and discuss on future roadmap for India. Platforms such as Smart Cities expo help draw attention to the right areas for economic progress.”

To demonstrate huge international interest towards India’s ambitious mission of developing Smart Cities, the expo will host 4 individual country pavilions (Holland, Poland, Sweden, and Taiwan) and participants from 40 countries.

In addition to the exhibition, the 2nd Smart Cities India 2016 expo will feature 300 eminent speakers across 46 concurrent conference sessions conferring on Smart cities in India: Policy and regulatory environment; Smart urban planning; Building healthy cities; Smart water solutions for smart cities; Green buildings for smart cities; Role of ICT in delivering smart cities; Solar rooftops as a game changer; Smart transport: Policies, legal issues & market realities; Smart grids: Shaping the future of smart cities; Smart cities: Preparing for disasters; Smart leadership for smart cities; Smart Cities develop smart citizens with smart education; Smart infrastructure and energy for rural India; etc.
